My name is Kili, and I’ve been teaching English since 2007. I received my CELTA certification in teaching English to speakers of other languages, and my Bachelor’s degree is in English.
Right now, I live near Lima, Peru, where I work as the English Program Manager for a small, educative NGO that helps students in an underdeveloped community. Prior to this, I lived in Seoul, South Korea, for about 8 years, where I taught English to both adults and children. I have also been teaching private lessons on Skype since leaving Korea. Some of my teaching experiences have included teaching Conversational English, Business English, and English for Academic Purposes, among others.
I teach classes that are very student-centered, because I believe that the student’s personal needs and interests should drive the class. I believe students should be given as much chance to speak as possible, with correction and guidance offered carefully and at the appropriate times. I create lessons for each individual student, and the vocabulary, grammar, and speaking strategies that we cover will depend on each student’s goals. It’s my goal to make each lesson highly useful as well as enjoyable.
