My name is Martin, and I am originally from England. I have lived, and worked, in many countries including The Netherlands, Australia, Egypt, Greece, Thailand, South Korea, The Philippines and Cambodia. For the past 3 years I have been living here, in the beautiful Kingdom of Cambodia.
I have 7 years experience teaching English as a second language here in Asia, and I am a CELTA qualified instructor. I have taught English to all ages of students with a big focus on Business English. I have delivered business English courses to major Korean corporations such as Daewoo, Samsung, Asiana Airlines and POSCO. I have taught students from these companies how to write business emails, how to chair a business meeting, how to deliver presentations to an audience and so on.
Before teaching English I worked in London for over 10 years. I worked in Business development for major IT companies such as Microsoft and IBM, so I have a lot of practical experience with all aspects of business English use.
With business English it is important for the student and instructor to define objectives. This is quite simple to achieve as the student can tell me more about their day to day job role and what they need to study to improve the skills needed. This is important as the vocabulary/role plays used can be different for different industries, and of course different job roles.
As well as Business English I can help with conversational classes and also exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL AND TOEIC. Not only can I help students study for these exams but also provide coaching tips on how to approach, and actually pass them.
